Economic Drawing

Re-drawing the Economy shows the many economies and systems we rely on, including monetary and monetary economies and nature. The drawing tools can be simple and ideally make use of what we have near-by. It can be pencils, sticks, cups. It can be on paper, on a table, on the ground. The drawings are most precise if they show how a particular community sustains itself. The drawing then reveals the myriad ways people and organisations (co-)create material well being, social and psychological sustenance and environmental care. The methodology is used within Community Economies research and action, and Re-drawing the Economy is a start to name, organise and imagine non-capitalist economies. One example of an exercise is "draw-your-economical-body". There one is asked think of all the things you need to live, all the aspects that sustain your life. Mentioning the obvious and less obvious one.
